In January of 2000, I gave a talk at my former high school to students for their career day. In February of 2000, I gave a similar talk to the Minneapples user group's programming SIG.
Since I wrote the notes in Manila and carried them to the two talks, it was pretty easy to put them on the web. Perhaps someone else will find them useful. I've also been getting information from other folks about this topic, so the site is actually growing. Cool.
Lastly, I've enabled the discussion group software in Manila so the folks from the programming SIG can discuss things here. I hope it'll be useful. The programming SIG meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except when holidays get in the way) at the Washburn Library in Minneapolis.
Thanks to Allyson Pardue of Scientific Placement and Pamela Smith of INNTECH Professional Staffing for their comments and suggestions.
